Betwixt and Between: Spiritual Life at the Edges
Liminality is that state of confusing transition all people enter either by choice or crisis. This space between the spaces is full of danger and great transformational power. This retreat aims to help people understand the liminal passages and find hopeful ways to move our communities through critical thresholds to greater peace, wholeness and harmony.
For decades Corrymeela has posited that our work has been about healing divisions. What are the characteristics of such transformation? We’re delighted to welcome author Tim Carson to Corrymeela Ballycastle in May to explore with those in the room how a contemporary understanding of liminality might serve to shape our understanding of social transformation.
The retreat will gather on Friday Evening with the first session starting around 8pm. The retreat is open to people of all faiths and none. The retreat will reference the person of Jesus and sacred texts from the christian tradition. The retreat is not designed to be an engagement with the book, Liminal Reality and Transformational Power, however having read the book in advance might help the process of building a shared undertsanding that enables us to journey further together over the weekend.
