Some Corrymeela Community members are again organising a series of Lenten walks this year and warmly invite you to join them. Please find the dates and locations below. Download a flyer about these walks.

Start Point: Castlewellan Park
End Point: Castlewellan
Length of Walk: approx 4.5 miles [3 hours]

This Walk will be on the north side of Castlewellan Lake and up a gentle climb onto part of Slievenaslat, or if wished continue around the lake for a flat walk.
After the walk has finished, a Lenten lunch will be hosted by Castlewellan Church’s Forum. Free parking is available outside of the park or in town.

End Point: St. Peter’s Church of Ireland [then returning to St Gerard’s]

This may be a guided walk. The route will be circular: from St. Gerard’s up Cavehill returning to St. Peter’s.
General Information
All walks offer spectacular views, so let’s hope we have beautiful weather!
The aim of the Lenten Pilgrimage of Prayer for Peace is to walk, talk , pray and reflect. Please wear suitable warm clothes, waterproof gear, walking boots and bring walking sticks.
The typical rhythm of the walks will be to gather for a short prayer at the beginning and the end of each walk, with a stop for lunch in the middle. Please bring a flask for all walks and your own packed lunch for Walks 1 and 3. Please arrange your own transport.
