Past volunteers and outside supporters alike have the option to "become a friend" of Corrymeela. This is a great way to show your support for promoting reconciliation and peace-building in Northern Ireland as well as to stay connected to the Corrymeela Community. You may join individually or as a group. Becoming a friend includes the benefits of receiving the Corrymeela magazine three times per year, updates on Corrymeela's happenings, and the fulfillment of knowing your contribution is making a difference.
Here are just a few familiar faces who support peacemaking at Corrymeela:
"The Corrymeela Community is a practical witness of peacemaking in Northern Ireland."
-Archbishop Desmond Tutu, South African Peace Activist"Corrymeela's great strength is its recognition that people of whatever background are brothers and sisters with a common father."
-Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, Archbishop of Westminster"In my time at Queen's University as the troubles flared, and when as a BBC journalist through the worst of the violence, I realised how decency has to be fought for as tenaciously as others wage war for extremism, but sadly fanatics are more highly motivated than fair-minded people. Throughout the worst of things, Corrymeela has been an island of activism for reasonableness and reconciliation. If only there were more like it." -Nick Ross, Broadcaster and Writer"Corrymeela is a byword for courageous, visionary, and practical peacemaking. The whole of our society needs to learn from its witness."
-Dr. Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury"I was a student in Belfast when Northern Ireland's conflict erupted so suddenly and so violently. Whenever I go back, what I'm struck by is the will to build on the peace, however imperfect it may be. Corrymeela helps people to build and re-build."
-Simon Callow, Actor
