Faith and Life

Croi at Corrymeela Ballycastle

Corrymeela is an ecumenical Christian community. We can help you on your faith journey and explore connections between faith and contemporary social, political and psychological issues. We respect differences between denominations and religions and welcome people from all faiths and none.

We have planned a number of open faith and life events at our Ballycastle Centre in the next year.  For further information, please call 028 2076 1726 or email Matt or Emma.

Many of the Bible Studies contained in this linked document have appeared in a slightly different form in David Steven's (Leader of the Corrymeela Community) book on reconciliation, The Land of Unlikeness (Columba Press, 2004).  They mainly deal with the subject of reconciliation or related themes, such as dealing with difference.

Many of the studies have been influenced by the work of the French literary critic Rene Girard.  Girard alerts us to the presence of mimetic rivalry, conflict, scapegoating, exclusion, expulsion and sacred violence in biblical texts.
