School photos taken at Corrymeela, Ballycastle

Corrymeela works with both primary and secondary schools to help students think about growing up in a divided community. Programmes encourage pupils to develop personally as well as to build relationships. Working alongside other young people, just like them but from different communities, students discuss politics, religion and culture.

Why choose Corrymeela?

  • Because we provide a safe environment where people from different communities can meet and build new relationships with each other and have done very successfully for over 40 years.
  • Because we work in partnership with a wide range of school, youth, church, community and family groups.
  • Because we design programmes dealing with topics such as personal development, teambuilding, and community relations.
  • Because we organise residentials incorporating outdoor activities and group discussions.
  • Because we visit schools, youth clubs and other local groups to carry out preliminary and developmental work prior to your visit to Corrymeela.

Through specific programmes developed in partnership with educational professionals and tailored to the school, the Corrymeela Schools Programme brings students and educators together, to get to grips with a range of citizenship topics.

The programme will include a variety of delivery methods including:

  1. Small Group work
  2. Whole-class activities
  3. In-school activities
  4. Visits to other schools
  5. Day visits to Corrymeela, Ballycastle
  6. Residential visits to Corrymeela, Ballycastle
  7. Adventure learning (outdoor activities)
  8. Creative learning (art,music,drama)
