Unique ways to support and connect with Corrymeela

Corrymeela has recently begun working with different programmes and organisations in order to create more exciting opportunities for our community to support us and stay connected.

Recycle for Corrymeela

Recycle for Corrymeela offers a new way to support both Corrymeela and the environment!
One of Corrymeela's wishes is "a society whose priorities are justice, mutual respect, the participation of all, stewardship of resources, and care for creation". We are excited to give you the opportunity in helping us meet this goal and to do good for the earth by teaming up with the Each One Counts scheme.  Your participation in Each One Counts helps you both recycle used inkjet cartridges and mobile phones AND to raise money for our organisation!

Millions of cartridges and mobile phones are thrown away every year in the U.K. without a second thought, but they could be raising valuable cash.

To order some freepost recycling bags and find out more about the program, please visit www.eachonecounts.co.uk/corrymeela.  Also, signing up for the program gives you the chance to win a bike!

Please remember to check your items are recyclable first and to register your bags so the donation goes to Corrymeela.

Facebook

Corrymeela has recently developed its very own Facebook page! Discover a whole new way to stay connected, network, and stay up-to-date with the Corrymeela Community by logging into your facebook account and searching for "The Corrymeela Community".  You can also view our facebook page's Photo Album.

Just Giving

Through the Just Giving programme, friends of Corrymeela now have the chance to fundraise in a new and exciting way!

Just Giving allows you the chance to create your own fundraising page for Corrymeela.  You don’t have to be computer savvy to make it happen-creating a page is easy, fast, and a straight-forward way to get your message out.

Ebay

Frustrated with wardrobes full of clothes you hardly wear? Piles of old wedding gifts, children’s toys and mistaken purchases clogging up your garage? Why not declutter your cupboards while contributing to Corrymeela at the same time? Spring cleaning for Corrymeela is an opportunity for you to raise funds for groups that need our support.

Corrymeela has registered with MissionFish, a non-profit organisation that runs eBay for Charity, who have raised £6,331,171 for 2,978 charities since 2006. Under this scheme, sellers on eBay can donate 10–100% of their profits to any charity registered with MissionFish.

For example, if you want to sell an old bike on eBay then you can choose a percentage of the sale price to donate to Corrymeela (say, 100%!). If the bike sells you receive payment from the buyer and send the item off by post. MissionFish will collect the donation from you, claim GiftAid on Corrymeela’s behalf, and pass the money onto us (with a very small deduction to cover costs). Of course you do not have to donate all profits to Corrymeela, but any percentage of donation means you earn a little, give a little, and everyone benefits.

With every listing made to benefit Corrymeela, our logo and mission statement, along with a special blue and yellow charity ribbon, are included on the listing. This attracts extra customers as people are happy to see that part of their purchase goes to charity. It also raises awareness for Corrymeela and increases exposure of Corrymeela’s name and mission. It is the perfect way to make a difference, and easy too.

Not convinced? Read the facts:

• £11,000 is raised on eBay for Charity every day
• An eBay for Charity item sells every 2 minutes
• eBay.co.uk has over 20 million users

For more information on the process of how to sell on eBay for Charity, visit Ebay for charity to see how you can take part.
