Corrymeela is delighted to invite you to a 4 day workshop with Helen Cushing, one of the world’s leading practitioners of Yoga based approaches to coping with the effects of post–traumatic stress.
The course is open to Yoga practitioners, support professionals and trauma survivors, and will blend theory & practice of yoga for trauma with a range of broader wellbeing practices, offered by Rachel Craig.

Helen Cushing (Ahimsa) has taught yoga since 2003, and has focused on working with war veterans, refugees and others with post–traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression for over a decade. She has consulted to a Colombian study on yoga for PTSD among ex–combatants of the Colombia–FARC conflict, and presents papers and workshops on the topic around the world. Ahimsa has instructed on yogic studies and yoga teacher training courses at the Satyananda Yoga Academy, Australia and Bihar School of Yoga, India. She is the author of “Hope: How Yoga Heals the Scars of Trauma” (2016).
Rachel Craig is a family & community work practitioner in N. Ireland. She has been has been involved in peace building for over 35 years, both as staff and as a member of the Corrymeela Community. She is a trainer in: Dialogue for Peaceful Change Conflict Management, programme design in experiential & creative learning processes, and trauma recovery. Rachel is a trained massage therapist.
