Join Corrymeela, the Focolare Community and the Clonard–Fitzroy Fellowship for an evening of ecumenical engagement, friendship and learning from Luther scholar Rev. Dr. Hubertus Blaumeiser.

Hubertus Blaumeiser is a priest from the diocese of Augsburg in Germany. Since 1983 he has been living and working in Rome. He is a Catholic expert on Martin Luther. His doctorate at the Pontifical Gregorian University was on the theology of the Cross in Luther as a key to his anthropology and world vision.

He has played an active part in different international Research congresses on Luther. He was present at the signing of the joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification in 1999 in Augsburg and at the lutheran–catholic commemoration of 500 years since the Reform on 31st October in Lund. From 1993 to 2008 he has taught dogmatic theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University. From 2007 to 2014 he has been the director at the international Centre for Focolare priests.

Presently he is part of a research project on the spirituality of the Reform which brings together different theological faculties in Rome including the Lateran University and the Sophia University Institute in Loppiano (Florence). He is a member of the international Study Centre of the Focolare Movement, “The Abba School” where he represents ecclesiology and pastoral theology. He is the editor of a church magazine for seminarians “Gens” and is part of the editorial team for the academic journal “New Humanity”.
