Courage to Lament

21 Jun 2022
St. Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast

‘Courage to Lament’, an ecumenical service at St. Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast, was held on Tuesday 21 June at 11.30am.

It was part of the Day of Reflection –– held on the longest day of the year, for there is no day that has not been marked by violence. Using the biblical practice of lament, this service offered a space to reflect on the conflict in and about Northern Ireland and the future that is before us.

We sought to create a space to acknowledge our deep hurt and pain, to reflect on what we might have done or might still do, and to commit ourselves to ensure such suffering and loss never happens again.

If you couldn’t be there in person, you can still watch the livestream on our YouTube channel here.
