Discussion, Cooking Demonstration, Shopping/ Eating Plan and lunch

This workshop starts with brief presentation and discussion on what we eat and the overall Well–Being for students.  Using these guidelines, we will create simple, affordable, delicious foods to keep you healthy and high–functioning.

‘Good’ food does not need to cost a fortune!  Your brain needs these 5 essential things to operate at an optimal level:

1. Water

2. Good Fats

3. Protein

4. Complex Carbohydrates

5. Micro Nutrients, found in Fruits and Veggies

We’ll use these guidelines to create Super Bowls.  Well ‘batch bake’ delicious nutritious; mix it up and experiment with different ways to create satisfying, delicious food to keep you full and happy for a long time!

Yoga for Life: Creating simple life–giving practices:

Let’s use our body, mind and spirit to stay vibrant, strong and present.  Over the course of the residential we will experience simple, accessible and fun yoga/ mindfulness practices to help inspire an ongoing well–being practice in your own life.

Resilience: Stay strong, rooted and supported

This workshop takes a creative and reflective approach to cultivating Resilience – as a carer and a person.  Drawing upon the research associated with Resilience – we look at three different aspects:

My: Self (the anchor & intrinsic strength of the individual)

My: Tribe (supportive network, the cultivation and maintenance of that network even when there are challenges and conflict

My: Will (Cultivate Hope and Optimism, and take ACTION to make things happen)

We’ll use creative reflection, yoga and mindfulness to explore these aspects and create an action plan for staying strong and healthy in your mind, body and spirit.
