On the 14th August Corrymeela hosted an evening to ‘Meet the Neighbours’, a peacebuilding project in the Causeway Coast and Glens Council area. The aim of these events is to explore the experience of BME community and build on community integration.

Corrymeela’s rich volunteer and staff community shared cultures and traditions, capturing the heart and soul of the evening by hosting a World café. Together with the local Ballycastle community, we explored friendship, migration and folk dance: Nandi Jola lead a powerful story telling workshop and local woman Shikha Khullar creatively shared the ancient craft of Henna art.

We are more alike than we are unalike….it was wonderful to be back in a multi–cultural, multi–racial community again!’’ (participant)

The electrical buzz of conversation was powerful: all the senses indulged, feasting on colour, movement and food.

Thank you for all who attended and contributed to a wonderful evening.
