Celebrating Diversity at Malone College

28 Mar 2019

Malone At Corrymeela, we had the great privilege of working with over 100 pupils from Year 8 at Malone Integrated College, Belfast through a school based and residential programme on the theme of ‘Living Well Together’.   Our Senior Youth Worker Ross McKenzie along with some of our international volunteers visited the school in March 2019 to reflect on their time at Corrymeela and life back at school.  We supported the pupils to prepare presentations at the school assemblies and on the 26th and 28th March 2019, 12 pupils assisted Ross to present to the entire school population their learning and reflections from Corrymeela. The special assemblies were part of Malone College and Corrymeela’s contribution to ‘Integrated Education Month’.  A video (below) was also produced to highlight the memories captured during the project and a 5ft wooden tree was created that showcased images of the pupils during their stay at the Corrymeela Centre and messages they had wrote to share their learning from this experience.

We would like to thank the funders of the project (highlighted below), the pupils and all the school staff for their efforts and we look forward to working together again in the new school year.
