Building Community through the PRISM Project

30 May 2019

We are more united– no longer strangers.

PRISM

In partnership with British Red Cross and ArtsEkta, Corrymeela’s  Marginalisation Programme has been supporting over 100 adults and children from local and refugee, asylum–seeking communities in the Belfast area to integrate since the start of 2019. The PRISM programme runs for 10 weeks in the community and participants have the opportunity to spend a weekend at the beautiful Corrymeela Centre, Ballycastle to deepen relationships, share experiences and build on long lasting connections.

The theme with our group in Belfast has been ‘Relax and Connect’ and through the expertise of therapeutic and creative artists from ArtsEkta, Corrymeela have designed and facilitated the programme using a trauma informed approach, opening new possibilities and curiosity about ‘the other.’

Currently running in South East Belfast the PRISM group are preparing to celebrate Refugee week 17th June –21st June through personal story, dance and music.
