“Peace Day” Tour of Schools
14 Nov 2019
We are delighted to revive Peace Day, our specially commissioned play first performed for 200 school pupils in City Hall at the centenary of the ending of World War 1.
From 11–15 November the play, with actors Andrew McCracken and Alys Williams, will tour three towns, Magherafelt, Ballycastle and Banbridge and involve ten schools and nearly 400 pupils in total. At each event pupils will explore issues of peacebuilding and reconciliation as well as the lasting impact of conflict.
We are grateful to the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland who have enabled the initiative this year. The photograph above is of five of the six schools who attended the Magherafelt performance in Magherafelt High School.
