‘Seed of Sequoia’ is a practical guide for faith communities responding to domestic and sexual violence –
made possible by a funding form the Sir Halley Stewart Trust.

It is estimated that at least 1 in 4 women will experience domestic and sexual violence in Ireland, north and south of the border, irrespective of background, age and religion.

Corrymeela recognises that faith leaders and church communities are uniquely positioned to respond to situations of domestic violence and abuse within congregations with compassion, kindness and love. That is why we are so pleased to announce the launch of this new resource.

Seed of Sequoia equips faith leaders to use their positions of responsibility to support survivors of domestic violence and abuse, and to examine the deep–rooted issues and causes within the context of Northern Ireland.

The resource is available through its own website: seedofsequoia.org
