Statement on the recent BMCA attack

08 Apr 2022

God created us to love one another, not to hate.

The Corrymeela Community is profoundly saddened by the news of a second arson attack on the Belfast Multi–Cultural Association. Just as repairs were being completed from a hate crime that damaged this community hub, there comes an act of fear and division that threatens our resilience and the strength of our solidarity.

We stand with our brothers and sisters at the BMCA and commit ourselves to a society where no one fears the other and where everyone can live in peace. Ramadan Mubarak, Ramadan Kareem to all those observing. And may God forgive us.

– Rev. Dr. Alex Wimberly, Leader of the Corrymeela Community
