Corrymeela Volunteer

Mid Term

Mid Term Volunteers
Our Mid Term Volunteers (MTVs) come to Corrymeela for varying periods of time and work alongside our residential staff and volunteer team. Our ideal time frames for MTVs are 3 month blocks, however we are open to considering shorter periods of time if 3 months is not practical.

While some MTVs will come with a range of skills to offer and assist in our work, other MTVs will be experiencing this type of work for the first time. Some younger MTVs use this as a stepping stone into the Long Term Volunteering programme. Inductions and training are provided throughout the period of volunteering. Tasks undertaken by volunteers include a combination of housekeeping, kitchen and reception shifts, as well as many opportunities to work alongside our groups that visit the centre. The role of the volunteers whilst working with the groups varies from providing hospitality to assisting long term volunteers and programme staff in delivering activities, and on occasion helping facilitate programme discussion.

We particularly welcome applications from older volunteers and religious workers. We aim to recruit 4–8 MTVs between our January – March, April – June, July – August and September – December time frames. On occasion it is possible to do 2 cycles if there is availability. The deadline for each time frame is ideally 2–4 months prior in order to allow time for visas and police background checks to be processed.

However, if you are an EU or local volunteer the deadline for applying may be more flexible. We are currently recruiting for our June – August 2018 and our September – December 2018 cycle of mid–term volunteers. The deadline for applications is rolling throughout the year.
