Summer School in Public Theology, Corrymeela Ballycastle
04 - 07 Jul 2019
Corrymeela Centre, Ballycastle
Corrymeela is delighted to run our second Summer School in Public Theology. All are welcome but if you are between 18 and 30 years old we have a limited number of scholarships available. Please contact us for more information.
When: Thursday 4th July (12:30pm) to Sunday 7th July (2pm).
This year’s School will examine the theology of inclusion, particularly as it relates to human sexuality and will build on the Blessed are the Brave work of Corrymeela over several years.
There will be FIVE streams for the Summer School:
1. Conflict dynamics in dialogue
2. Reading the Bible
3. Story–telling (a film–making project offering opportunities for telling your story)
4. Advocacy for Inclusion
5. Supportive space for LGBTI people
The programme will enable participants to engage with theologians and activists as well as the classic literature of religious history and provide space to explore faith and vocation through theological thinking, study and action.
The Summer school in Public Theology will take place at Corrymeela’s Ballycastle centre and will be residential to facilitate a trusting and inclusive learning community which can listen well to one another and with those from whom we are learning.
Cost:
The full cost of this residential is £225.00 (for those aged over 30), but if you are between 18–30 years old we are delighted to be able to offer scholarships to enable you to attend.
